Top 5 Moments of the 2024 Formula 1 Season

1. Max Verstappen’s Spectacular Comeback at the Brazilian Grand Prix
Starting from 17th on the grid due to a penalty, Max Verstappen showed us why he deserves to be a 4 time World Champion with a sublime drive in the wet, silencing all his critics (including Lando Norris and Zak Brown)
To me, it was even better than what Lewis Hamilton did back in 2021.
2. McLaren’s Resurgence with Multiple Victories
If you asked me at the beginning of the season who would win the constructors? My answer would never have been McLaren. But the Horner controversy, Newey’s exit and Perez’s spectacular loss of form, meant the door was wide open. Ferrari tried their best, but McLaren’s consistency is what won them the Constructor’s championship. Well done Lando, Oscar, Andreas, Zak and the rest of the team!
3. Lewis Hamilton’s Emotional Tribute at the Brazilian Grand Prix
Despite a challenging race, Lewis Hamilton honored the late Ayrton Senna by driving his 1990 title-winning car in front of the São Paulo crowd. This gesture resonated deeply with fans, highlighting Hamilton’s respect for the F1 legend. He now adorns the Ferrari Red, as he looks to win his 8th title and the first for a Ferrari since 2008.
4. Diverse Race Winners Across the Calendar
The 2024 season featured a variety of race winners, including Carlos Sainz Jr. in Australia and Mexico, Charles Leclerc in Monaco, Italy, and the U.S. (COTA), and George Russell in Austria and Las Vegas. This diversity underscored the competitive nature of the championship.
5. Record-Breaking Crowds Across the 2024 Season
The 2024 Formula 1 season set a new benchmark for global fan engagement, with record-breaking attendance figures at several races. The Las Vegas Grand Prix drew an astonishing crowd, cementing its place as a marquee event on the calendar. The British Grand Prix at Silverstone also saw its largest turnout ever, with fans flocking to see their favorite drivers in action.
Perhaps, Formula 1 can consider lowering the ever soaring ticket prices though!
